The role primarily involves developing a global trading surveillance system to integrate data from various trading platforms, identifying and preventing market manipulation, and creating prototype alerts for subsequent integration into the core big data surveillance tool. This entails investigating and escalating daily alerts, conducting spot checks, and collaborating with front officers on trading practices. Additionally, the position involves contributing to awareness and guidelines on best practices in line with regulatory developments, analyzing algorithmic trading tools, and collaborating with legal and compliance teams on external inquiries. Desired hard skills include data analysis proficiency, familiarity with office tools and databases, and coding skills, preferably in Python.

Candidates should possess a Master's degree in energy engineering, economics, risk management, finance, or related fields, along with up to three years of analytical experience in banking, utilities, or trading environments. Occasional travel to other trading offices may be necessary. Soft skills such as analytical thinking, assertiveness, organization, proactiveness, resilience to stress, curiosity, and collaborative teamwork are essential, with a strong interest in energy markets being beneficial.
