[Industrial Infrastructure] Director of Equipment O&M

Role Overview:

This role will lead the Equipment Maintenance Operations division to drive efficiency and productivity. The incumbent will oversee the review of mandatory and enforceable operational and reliability standards, ensuring compliance with approved standards. The role involves continuously transforming and improving the culture of excellence in equipment maintenance and engineering to align with evolving business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance Regime: Ensure the maintenance regime supports all deployed equipment.
  • Team Planning: Plan and delegate work within teams to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  • Gap Evaluation: Evaluate and identify gaps in the maintenance team to align with departmental objectives.
  • Control Procedures: Ensure conformance to control procedures for the equipment fleet.
  • Resource Management: Effectively manage all departmental resources.
  • Safety and Training: Responsible for the safety and training programs within the department.
  • Performance Inquiries: Investigate internal and external customer inquiries regarding equipment performance.
  • Financial Control: Manage the budget, ensuring maintenance, repair, and project costs are within budget.
  • Logistics Strategy: Develop and maintain a scalable logistics strategy for engineering spare inventory to ensure reliable availability of equipment spares.
  • Stock Accountability: Ensure stock take accountability and compliance with internal audit checks.
  • Team Management: Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing maintenance team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results, added value, and continuous improvements.
  • Maintenance Prioritization: Prioritize equipment maintenance according to business needs and demands, with a focus on preventive maintenance for critical equipment.
  • Reliability Measurements: Customize reliability measurements for different equipment based on business requirements, resulting in different cost allocations.
  • Process Excellence: Enhance process excellence, SOPs, and Kaizen best practices within EEM to advance preventive maintenance programs.
  • Data Analysis and Monitoring: Expand data analysis and monitoring to provide a baseline for digitalization and real-time tracking of equipment performance.
  • Cybersecurity Risk Management: Ensure OT risk management and mitigation actions are in place to protect against cybersecurity risks.
  • Safety Culture: Enhance the safety culture across the organization.
  • Training Regime: Develop comprehensive training programs for technicians and engineers to ensure development and progression.
  • Leadership Development: Enhance leadership development and succession planning at middle and senior management levels.

Job Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Degree in Engineering or Project Management.
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in managing maintenance/operation teams.
  • Process Thinking: Proven track record in process thinking and a process-oriented work environment.
  • Team Management: Proven track record in managing a multi-national technical executive team.
  • P&L Management: Experience in managing Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibilities for maintenance.
  • Plant Level Experience: Extensive plant-level experience with significant proven man management experience.
